He rode his bike
tie and slacks
Umbrella shielding himself from the rain
Everyday.
He holds a sign and does pushups, every now and then
Walks with head held high and determination in his step
Everyday.
He shows up
His smile and him-
Always has something to say
Something memorable,
Everyday.
He waves to them all, makes sure that they see him
Makes sure they know
that someone-
sees them
Everyday.
He takes her trashcan in-
On those days
Even when he knows she’s home, even when he knows he’s home
Everyday.
She takes him with her, wherever she goes
(Because mom can’t, she must work).
And he’s little and she’s old, but there’s magic, wherever
she goes-
Everyday.
Magic, wherever they go-
Wherever they all go.
